Getting your freezer fixed in West Covina

A freezer that can't hold temperature puts a lot of food at risk fast, so freezer calls in West Covina get treated as the urgent ones. We repair chest and upright freezers — units that run warm, frost over, click without starting, or never stop running — testing the sealed system, fans and defrost circuit in order and quoting the fix before any part comes out.

West Covina sits about 38 miles from our Reseda base, on the 210-corridor run we drive daily — same-day visits are straightforward.

We've completed 1 appliance repair job in West Covina — each one diagnosed on site, quoted in writing before work started, and covered by our labor and parts warranty.

Common problems we fix in West Covina

Every one of these starts the same way: we test the unit and confirm the failed part before quoting.

Freezer warm, food thawingA failed evaporator fan, a frosted evaporator, or a compressor start problem.
Frost covering everythingDefrost heater, defrost thermostat or a control that never starts a defrost cycle.
Clicking, won't startA failed compressor start relay — or a compressor that's done. We test the windings before saying which.
Runs constantlyDirty condenser coils, a door gasket that leaks cold air, or a slow refrigerant loss.
Water pooling insideA frozen drain line backing meltwater into the cabinet.

How the repair works

Freezer diagnosis starts with temperatures and airflow: we verify the evaporator fan, check the defrost circuit end to end, and test the compressor's start components and amp draw. Gaskets get a dollar-bill drag test around the whole door. Start relays, fans and defrost parts for the common models ride on the truck; sealed-system work gets quoted honestly before it starts.

On a freezer call, the parts we test and replace most often include: evaporator fan, defrost heater & thermostat, start relay & overload, control board, door gasket, condenser fan, compressor. Each is identified against your exact model number — no universal substitutes, no hoping a close-enough part holds.

We charge $95 for the diagnostic visit and nothing is hidden inside it: the technician tests the appliance properly, identifies the failed part by your model number, and quotes one total for the complete repair. Say yes and the $95 is credited toward the bill. Say no and that's the end of it — $95, no pressure. The work itself is covered for 1 month on labor and 3 months on parts.

West Covina is about 38 miles from our Reseda base, on the 210-corridor run we drive daily — same-day visits here are standard. Afternoon calls roll to the next morning's run, first stops first.

Freezer repair in West Covina — questions

My freezer is warm but the light works. What's wrong?

Power to the cabinet doesn't mean cooling: the usual causes are a dead evaporator fan, a frosted-over evaporator from a failed defrost part, or a compressor that won't start. All are diagnosable in one visit.

Is a freezer full of frost worth repairing?

Almost always — heavy frost is a defrost-system symptom (heater, thermostat or control), not a dying freezer. Fixing the defrost circuit restores normal operation.

How long can food stay safe in a broken freezer?

A full, closed freezer holds safe temperatures roughly 48 hours (about 24 for a half-full one). Keep the door shut and call early — most freezer failures we see are same-visit fixes.

Do you repair both chest and upright freezers?

Yes, both, plus freezer drawers and the freezer sections of built-in units. Parts are identified by model number and quoted before we start.

Please review our service call terms:

• The diagnostic visit is $95. If you proceed with the repair, the full $95 is credited toward your repair — you pay only for the repair itself. If you decide not to repair, the $95 diagnostic fee is due for the visit.

• Built-in and stacked units: in most cases (about 60%) we can diagnose a built-in unit in place. Sometimes a full diagnosis requires pulling the unit out (extraction), or removing a dryer stacked on top of a washer. Extraction is done only with your approval on site and costs extra, in addition to the $95 diagnostic fee: removing a stacked dryer — $150; single built-in oven — $250; double built-in oven — $300; built-in refrigerator — from $600 (the exact price depends on the model and the access, and is quoted on site before any work begins). You may decline extraction and end the visit at any point — then only the $95 diagnostic fee applies, even if a complete diagnosis is not possible without extraction.

• Confirming your visit: before heading out, your technician will text you to confirm. Please reply — if we don't receive a reply, your reserved slot will be released and the visit cancelled. If you need to cancel, please let us know before the technician heads out; once the technician has arrived, the $95 service call fee applies.
