Getting your stove fixed in Sierra Madre

Stove calls in Sierra Madre are usually about the cooktop: a burner that clicks but never lights, a burner that lights and dies, or one that runs full blast no matter where the knob sits. We repair gas and electric stoves and cooktops — sealed burners, spark modules, igniters, infinite switches and surface elements — testing the ignition circuit step by step so the fix targets the part that actually failed.

Sierra Madre sits about 28 miles from our Reseda base, on routes we run through the foothills and the San Gabriel Valley every day — same-day visits are straightforward.

Common problems we fix in Sierra Madre

Every one of these starts the same way: we test the unit and confirm the failed part before quoting.

Burner clicks but won't lightClogged burner ports, a wet or cracked igniter, or a failed spark module.
Burner lights, then diesA weak igniter or a failing igniter switch under the knob.
Burner won't turn downA failed infinite switch (electric) or a sticking surface valve (gas).
Electric element deadA burned-out coil or a receptacle that lost contact.
Constant clicking after lightingA wet igniter switch from a boil-over, or a spark module stuck on.

How the repair works

Stove diagnosis follows the spark: we check the igniter, the switch under the knob and the spark module in order, and on gas burners we verify the ports are clear and the flame pattern is even before calling any part bad. Electric coils get a continuity and receptacle check. Most ignition parts ride on the truck, so most stove calls end with every burner lighting the way it should.

On a stove call, the parts we test and replace most often include: burner heads & caps, igniters, spark modules, igniter switches, surface elements, receptacles, infinite switches, control knobs. Each is identified against your exact model number — no universal substitutes, no hoping a close-enough part holds.

We charge $95 for the diagnostic visit and nothing is hidden inside it: the technician tests the appliance properly, identifies the failed part by your model number, and quotes one total for the complete repair. Say yes and the $95 is credited toward the bill. Say no and that's the end of it — $95, no pressure. The work itself is covered for 1 month on labor and 3 months on parts.

Stove repair in Sierra Madre — questions

Why does my stove burner keep clicking?

A clicking burner that won't stop usually means a wet or failed igniter switch — often after a boil-over — or a spark module stuck in the on position. We test the switch circuit and replace the worn part.

A burner clicks but won't light. What's wrong?

Clogged burner ports are the simple cause; beyond that, the spark igniter or the spark module. On sealed-burner cooktops it's often just a wet or dirty igniter after a spill. We test the ignition circuit before replacing anything.

Do you repair both gas and electric stoves?

Yes — gas stoves and cooktops (ignition, valves, burners) and electric models (coils, receptacles, infinite switches), freestanding ranges and slide-in cooktops alike.

When is a gas smell an emergency?

If you smell gas with every burner off, treat it as an emergency: no flames, no switches, get out and call the gas company. If the smell only appears while a burner is lighting slowly, that's an ignition problem we can diagnose and fix.

Please review our service call terms:

• The diagnostic visit is $95. If you proceed with the repair, the full $95 is credited toward your repair — you pay only for the repair itself. If you decide not to repair, the $95 diagnostic fee is due for the visit.

• Built-in and stacked units: in most cases (about 60%) we can diagnose a built-in unit in place. Sometimes a full diagnosis requires pulling the unit out (extraction), or removing a dryer stacked on top of a washer. Extraction is done only with your approval on site and costs extra, in addition to the $95 diagnostic fee: removing a stacked dryer — $150; single built-in oven — $250; double built-in oven — $300; built-in refrigerator — from $600 (the exact price depends on the model and the access, and is quoted on site before any work begins). You may decline extraction and end the visit at any point — then only the $95 diagnostic fee applies, even if a complete diagnosis is not possible without extraction.

• Confirming your visit: before heading out, your technician will text you to confirm. Please reply — if we don't receive a reply, your reserved slot will be released and the visit cancelled. If you need to cancel, please let us know before the technician heads out; once the technician has arrived, the $95 service call fee applies.
