Getting your dryer fixed in San Gabriel

Dryers are the most mechanically honest appliances in the house, and the repairs usually are too. In San Gabriel we fix electric and gas dryers every day — elements and thermal fuses on the electric side, igniters and gas valves on the gas side, belts, idlers and rollers for anything that squeals or thumps. A proper diagnosis takes minutes, most of the parts ride on the truck, and most dryers are heating again within the visit.

San Gabriel sits about 27 miles from our Reseda base, on routes we run through the foothills and the San Gabriel Valley every day — same-day visits are straightforward.

Common problems we fix in San Gabriel

Every one of these starts the same way: we test the unit and confirm the failed part before quoting.

Drum won't tumbleSnapped belt, seized idler pulley or worn drum rollers.
Takes forever to dryWeak heating element, clogged vent line or a failing blower wheel.
Loud squealing or thumpingWorn drum rollers, a flat-spotted belt or a loose blower wheel.
Stops mid-cycleOverheating from lint buildup, a bad motor or a failing timer/board.
Runs but no heatBurned-out heating element, blown thermal fuse or a failed cycling thermostat.

How the repair works

The truck stock for dryer calls covers the failures that make up most of the work: heating elements, thermal fuses, thermostats, belts, idler pulleys, drum rollers and common igniters. While the drum is out we also clear the lint path inside the machine — the buildup most people never see — because a dryer that breathes properly dries faster and stops cooking its own components.

On a dryer call, the parts we test and replace most often include: top panel & console, front panel & door, drum, drive belt, heating element, blower housing, drive motor, thermal fuse & thermostats. Each is identified against your exact model number — no universal substitutes, no hoping a close-enough part holds.

We charge $95 for the diagnostic visit and nothing is hidden inside it: the technician tests the appliance properly, identifies the failed part by your model number, and quotes one total for the complete repair. Say yes and the $95 is credited toward the bill. Say no and that's the end of it — $95, no pressure. The work itself is covered for 1 month on labor and 3 months on parts.

San Gabriel is about 27 miles from our Reseda base, on our regular foothill and San Gabriel Valley routes — same-day visits here are standard. Afternoon calls roll to the next morning's run, first stops first.

Dryer repair in San Gabriel — questions

The drum won't turn, but I hear the motor humming. What is it?

That combination is the classic broken drive belt — the motor runs, the drum doesn't. Occasionally it's a seized idler pulley or roller. Either way it's a same-visit repair in most cases.

Is it worth repairing an older dryer?

Very often, yes — dryers are durable machines and the common failures are inexpensive parts. Even a motor replacement can make sense on a sound machine. If yours genuinely isn't worth it, we'll say so at the diagnostic stage, before you've spent real money.

My dryer takes two or three cycles to dry a load. Is that the dryer or the vent?

Either — a weak heating element, worn drum seals, or a vent line clogged with lint all produce the same symptom. We test the heating output and check airflow, so you fix the actual cause instead of whichever one someone guessed first.

Do you service gas dryers as well as electric?

Both, every day. Gas dryer no-heat calls are usually the igniter or the valve coils; we also check that the burner cycles correctly after the repair, not just that it lights once.

Filmed on real AL Best repair jobs — our own work, not stock footage.

A dryer that looked fine from the outside, but inside was a thick layer of scorched dust — a real fire hazard — and the drum rollers were completely worn out. We vacuumed everything spotless and installed new rollers, and the dryer is running safely again.

Please review our service call terms:

• The diagnostic visit is $95. If you proceed with the repair, the full $95 is credited toward your repair — you pay only for the repair itself. If you decide not to repair, the $95 diagnostic fee is due for the visit.

• Built-in and stacked units: in most cases (about 60%) we can diagnose a built-in unit in place. Sometimes a full diagnosis requires pulling the unit out (extraction), or removing a dryer stacked on top of a washer. Extraction is done only with your approval on site and costs extra, in addition to the $95 diagnostic fee: removing a stacked dryer — $150; single built-in oven — $250; double built-in oven — $300; built-in refrigerator — from $600 (the exact price depends on the model and the access, and is quoted on site before any work begins). You may decline extraction and end the visit at any point — then only the $95 diagnostic fee applies, even if a complete diagnosis is not possible without extraction.

• Confirming your visit: before heading out, your technician will text you to confirm. Please reply — if we don't receive a reply, your reserved slot will be released and the visit cancelled. If you need to cancel, please let us know before the technician heads out; once the technician has arrived, the $95 service call fee applies.
