Getting your ice maker fixed in San Fernando

Ice maker calls in San Fernando come down to a short list: the maker stopped cycling, it cycles but never fills, or it fills and never freezes. We repair in-fridge ice makers, freezer ice makers and standalone undercounter units — testing the module, the inlet valve and the water line in order, so the part that gets replaced is the part that failed.

San Fernando sits about 8 miles from our Reseda base, well inside our daily Valley loop — we pass through constantly, and same-day visits are straightforward.

Common problems we fix in San Fernando

Every one of these starts the same way: we test the unit and confirm the failed part before quoting.

No ice at allA dead ice maker module, a failed inlet valve or a frozen fill line.
Cycles but never fillsThe inlet valve isn't opening, or the fill tube is iced shut.
Small or hollow cubesLow water pressure to the valve, a clogged filter or a partially frozen line.
Ice tastes or smells offAn overdue water filter, or ice sitting too long against freezer odors.
Leaks around the ice makerA cracked fill line, a leaking valve or an overfilling module.

How the repair works

We start with the cycle: a healthy ice maker calls for water every couple of hours. The technician forces a harvest cycle, checks voltage at the inlet valve, and inspects the fill line for ice — three tests that separate a dead module from a dead valve from a frozen tube. Modules and valves for the common brands ride on the truck.

On an ice maker call, the parts we test and replace most often include: ice maker module & assembly, inlet valve, fill tube & water line, ice level arm & sensor, water filter housing, auger motor. Each is identified against your exact model number — no universal substitutes, no hoping a close-enough part holds.

We charge $95 for the diagnostic visit and nothing is hidden inside it: the technician tests the appliance properly, identifies the failed part by your model number, and quotes one total for the complete repair. Say yes and the $95 is credited toward the bill. Say no and that's the end of it — $95, no pressure. The work itself is covered for 1 month on labor and 3 months on parts.

San Fernando is about 8 miles from our Reseda base, inside the daily Valley loop — same-day visits here are standard. Afternoon calls roll to the next morning's run, first stops first.

Ice Maker repair in San Fernando — questions

Why did my ice maker suddenly stop?

The most common causes are a failed ice maker module, an inlet valve that stopped opening, or a fill line frozen shut. All three are testable in one visit, and the fix is usually the same day.

My ice maker makes ice very slowly. Is that normal in summer?

Partly — a hot garage or a warm freezer slows production — but a sudden drop usually means low water pressure, a clogged filter, or a freezer running warm for another reason. We check the whole chain.

Do you repair standalone / undercounter ice makers?

Yes — undercounter and standalone units as well as in-fridge makers, including the premium brands. We identify parts by model number and quote before starting.

The ice tastes bad. Can that be fixed?

Usually yes: an overdue water filter is the main cause, followed by a contaminated line. We replace the filter, flush the line, and check the valve while we're there.

Please review our service call terms:

• The diagnostic visit is $95. If you proceed with the repair, the full $95 is credited toward your repair — you pay only for the repair itself. If you decide not to repair, the $95 diagnostic fee is due for the visit.

• Built-in and stacked units: in most cases (about 60%) we can diagnose a built-in unit in place. Sometimes a full diagnosis requires pulling the unit out (extraction), or removing a dryer stacked on top of a washer. Extraction is done only with your approval on site and costs extra, in addition to the $95 diagnostic fee: removing a stacked dryer — $150; single built-in oven — $250; double built-in oven — $300; built-in refrigerator — from $600 (the exact price depends on the model and the access, and is quoted on site before any work begins). You may decline extraction and end the visit at any point — then only the $95 diagnostic fee applies, even if a complete diagnosis is not possible without extraction.

• Confirming your visit: before heading out, your technician will text you to confirm. Please reply — if we don't receive a reply, your reserved slot will be released and the visit cancelled. If you need to cancel, please let us know before the technician heads out; once the technician has arrived, the $95 service call fee applies.
